OUTER SHELL

Shell Full-Grain Cowhide Canadian Leather

Canadian vegetable-tanned leather selected for its natural softness, flexibility, and integrity. This full-grain, Grade 1 cowhide is produced without added pigment or surface finish, leaving the leather naked and untouched. Texture, tone, and natural markings remain visible and honest.

Worked from the back of the hide, in line with traditional First Nations practices, the leather retains its original character. Nothing is corrected or concealed. Over time, it will develop a deep, lived-in patina shaped by light, movement, and wear.

Measuring approximately 1.2–1.4 mm in thickness, VM.36 offers substance without stiffness. It is traditionally used for mukluks, gloves, and artisanal pieces where suppleness and durability must coexist. The Autumn Gold tone reflects the natural depth of the hide rather than applied color.

Natural variations in texture, grain, and tone are inherent to this leather and part of its identity. Each hide is unique. Designed to age, not fade.

The Forester

Cut from Canadian vegetable-tanned full-grain leather. Worked from the back of the hide, in line with traditional First Nations practices, it retains its original character. This is naked leather in its natural integrity. Over time, it will develop a deep, lived-in patina that reflects wear, light, and movement.

The leather breathes naturally. At its core, the rarest warmth on earth — Canadian eiderdown.

An iconic shirt jacket, built on the same foundation as our well-loved Linen Shirt, slightly more rugged, with a western edge. Responsibly sourced. Made-to-order in Montréal.

The Forester is a tough, hands-on living piece — in the warmest, kindest way.
